Why is there money on the floor?

Today i followed a trail of nickels along the living room floor.. why is there a dollar in nickels on the floor i ask craig and then i noticed the dogs were chewing on something.. they were taking turns ripping apart newly rolled tubes of nickels.. quarters and pennies. . they didnt eat any., i know because i counted but they still liked the ripping.. i think it was the sound.. silly basset hounds.
